About the Author

I am a Briton who has lived in Colombia for over 6 years. During that time I have travelled extensively throughout the country and have gradually fallen in love with the landscapes, the culture and most of all the people.

I originally planned to stay in Colombia for just a few months. I've been here well over half a decade and now consider this to be 'home'.

It is a country not without its faults, but the charm and hospitality of Colombia means that remaining within these borders beomes more and more appealing with every passing year. As the Colombia tourist slogan goes; "Colombia: The only risk is wanting to stay." How very true.

About the Site

This site was set up back in early 2009 to provide help and advice to anyone coming to Colombia. It provides comprehensive coverage of all regions of Colombia, from the most well-trodden plazas of La Candaleria in Bogota to the remote Pacific beaches of El Choco.

Much of the site is designed with tourists in mind, from backpackers looking for a cheap hostel and some crazy nightlife, to a family spending a week on the Caribbean coast. But the site has also been designed to help those with more permanent plans here in Colombia. Each year more and more people move to Colombia in search of work or property or simply somewhere to retire to.

Whatever your reason for visiting ColombiaTravelGuide.Net I hope you find this site to be a useful resource and I wish you all the best on your Colombian adventure!
