Spanish Courses MedellinSurvival Spanish CoursesTake part in the positive transformation that’s going on in Medellín! It’s the right time to learn Spanish in the right place…The Centro Colombo Americano! IntroductionAs one of the education and cultural leaders in the city, the Centro Colombo Americano is now offering Spanish courses through its Survival Spanish Program directed at the tourism community currently in Medellín. This program was designed taking into account the prevailing needs of this population in order to give participants the opportunity to delve into the Spanish language and the cultural aspects of the city in an informal and enriching environment through its tailored Spanish courses. MethodologyEach session that makes up the program will focus on different elements of the Spanish language in a variety of contexts, starting from the competences that the participants have initially acquired and enhancing these through guided workshops and immersion-type experiences. The Spanish courses and each of its sessions will be guided by a teacher from the Centro Colombo Americano who will accompany the participants in their language learning process and provide opportunities to apply the language and cultural components covered in the course. There will be special workshops and immersion activities that focus on introducing and strengthening of specific communicative language skills where students actively participate in “hands-on” experiences including visits to shopping malls, banks, restaurants, etc. under the guidance of a tutor so that the participants can put into practice the language that has been acquired in the classes and workshops. The Survival Spanish Program will help participants develop the confidence necessary to handle themselves better in basic day-to-day tasks and will generally be more prepared when facing more complex tasks that involve the use of Spanish. The Spanish classes are held in the comfortable and modern installation in San Fernando Plaza (El Poblado) and all registered participants will have free access to internet, the Multimedia Learning Center and the Library, both located downtown, over the duration of the program.
